Why Buy Mobile?
In the last 3 years, we’ve witnessed a significant shift from desktop to mobile listening of our online streams. In order to fully engage our listening audiences, it’s time to deploy mobile-specific advertising strategies in conjunction with our on-air and online campaigns.
Our Station App is really the best tool for delivering a mobile advertising campaign. The Apps are designed to give advertisers multiple points of engagement every time the App is used. And because there is only one sponsor per station app, this opportunity should be viewed and sold as an exclusive premium!
- The App’s real estate: A “Landing Page” that loads each time the App is accessed, the main Player Page and App Home Page with “powered by” and Client Logo, as well as customizable buttons on the Home Page that can link to a variety of media and URLs.
- In addition to these fixed graphic units, we can deliver the following media to the App: Video or Audio Pre-Roll, regular stream commercials or even mobile-only audio impressions, and mobile banner ads.
- Historically, sellers have sold various parts of the App, which is why we present it as “options.” The smart play is to sell advertisers on the importance of reaching mobile listening and using ALL of the App’s ad opportunities to ensure that effective impressions are delivered.
- Given the amount of listening that still goes through non-mobile channels (including iHeart Radio) we strongly recommend that you package Mobile as “On-The-Go,” which combines sponsorship of the desktop player, pre-roll through desktop and mobile and, ideally, a supporting streaming-audio schedule.
- This strategy is a perfect solution for annual clients and terrestrial buyers who need to add significant digital weight to their buys.

NOTE: The creative copy used in Mobile Apps must be duplicated at different sizes/resolutions for the major Apple and Android operating systems, which is why each sponsorship requires the number of images specified below.
