Why Buy Homepage Takeovers?
The Takeover idea turns regular Display Ads into a much more powerful attention-getter and engagement-driver. The purpose of Display Ads on our sites are to provide a quick click for our audiences to connect with companies that they’ve been hearing about on-air & in-stream. The Takeover concept makes these ads impossible to avoid; all Ad Zones on the page, as well as both sides of the page, contain ads for the same customer. These ads might all be the same or may be used to brand in one zone and call to action in another.
- As with any Display Ad, the key is having a simple, clean call-to-action message that ties into the campaign heard On-Air/Online. It should ASK the consumer to ACT. Example: Click Here To Schedule Your Test Drive!
- Since there are three different ad sizes involved in a Takeover, the message or presentation might have to vary a bit for each ad size.
- Each ad is linked to a client web address. This doesn’t need to be the homepage; it can be a social site, a reservation URL or other product-specific “Landing Page.” You can use a different URL for each ad run.
- The Takeovers are usually of short duration; we generally run them for 24-48 hours. They can be longer, but this may cause issues for other display commitments that must be delivered.
- Whole-site Takeovers are not supported, as they create significant inventory conflicts.
- Trafficking can take up to two business days.

Ad Formats | We support JPG & PNG for still images, or GIF for motion/animated units. For animated units, all must load with Audio OFF, and we prefer our GIF motion graphics to be relatively subtle to maintain a positive user experience. We strongly recommend only using only one animated ad at a time, even though you can use them on all of the ad units. If you submit a third party cretive ad tag, please include a suitable JPG or PNG to load on devices in the event the ad type is not supported. |
